❤️ Introducing Wedge, a four-legged local hero.

Wedge the police dog helped NT Police to find an elderly woman who went missing in Darwin on Tuesday.

The 81-year-old woman was dehydrated and covered in insect bites when she was found late last night and taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.

By 10pm police had narrowed down her location by triangulating her phone – searching near Frances Bay Drive.

Wedge pointed police towards a steep embankment covered in long grass and dense vegetation – where they found the woman lying over a partially-covered water pipe, and administered first aid until paramedics arrived.

Senior Sergeant Shayne Warden has praised police and Wedge for their heroic efforts.
